DJO Global Integration to Emory Healthcare EMR
MotionMD is point of care technology that automates our DME management, inventory dispensing, physician protocols and standardizes insurance policies while optimizing compliance, productivity, and patient outcomes.  Objectives are to 1. transform the current paper based workflow to an electronic platform  2. gain integration with Emory to further streamline the clinical flow, allow for electronic restocking, and improve downstream patient interactions/responsibilities.
Desired outcomes are:
1. Improve speed, accuracy, security, patient, physician and clinical satisfaction with the DME
2. Improve PHI & HIPAA Security
3. Eliminate multiple form data entry
4. Capture physician and patient signatures electronically and securely
5. Transmit information electronically for authorization and billing
6. Access clinician and physician education materials on demand
7. Provide compliant batch signing capability, reducing physician time requirements
8. Simplify inventory dispensing and management, help set accurate PAR levels, etc
9. Set inventory PAR levels for easy reordering and improved
10. Enhance patient satisfaction
11. Educate patients online with user-friendly product and diagnosis tools
12. Increase patient engagement with automated emails for electronic documents including patient agreements and instructions for use

Integration
HL7 integration is typically used to send patient demographic and insurance information from the EMR system to MotionMD.  DJO has partnered with Dell using their Boomi technology to make integrations fast and easy.  To date DJO has integrated with 20+ EMR systems and are in process with many more.  They have completed integrations in as quickly as a day.  Most integrations require the clinic to open a ticket with the EMR vendor and list DJO as a contact.  DJO will take care of the work with the vendor.  In some cases (Cerner or EPIC in particular at larger institutions) DJO has found that the internal staff of the institution will take on the integration work.  Most have an integration engine that can easily export the data that DJO needs.

This is regarding your new request "DJO Global Integration to Emory Healthcare EMR ":
Jeanie
I am following up on new requests. Since  if it was submitted as a request for FY17 capital budget. If not, has Orthopedic leadership approved this project and set funds aside for the project?

Thanks
Michele Crawford

Hi Michele –
Yes, this was approved by Ortho leadership last fiscal year.  I don’t believe there will be any capital hardware needed for this project.  I think DonJoy Global just needs access to the HL7 feed.  I can put you in touch with their implementation manager and have a quick call for the 3 of us if that is helpful?  (As I don’t speak IS/IT language very well…)  ;)
Thanks

[FEB-06-17 Michele Crawford] discussed with Julie and she is going to reach out to Jeanie to understand the request.

[FEB-06-17 Michele Crawford] Julie H. sent the following email to user on 02/06:
Hi Mike & Jeanie-
We’re reviewing some of our outstanding new requests and I wanted to understand what the business needs were in terms of integrating the DME stuff into EeMR.  I’m not sure that we will be able to do that but needed to better understand what you’re trying to accomplish.

Thanks,
Julie

Hi Michelle and Karen –
I circled back to Hattery and he sent me the below email.  Item #3 on the list is the integration project with DJO Global.  When I spoke to Karen a few minutes ago she was under the impression this project wasn’t on the list and it was closed out because it wasn’t in our top 5.  It is in our top 5 and we would like to move forward if possible.  I think Karen mention the next step would be a Vendor Technical Questionnaire.  If we are ok to move forward, can please have that document to pass along to DJO?

Thanks and please let me know if you need any other info.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
